Travel with me through the pages of my sketchbooks. I do not consider myself a plein aire painter even though I love to paint outside. My style of painting outside is called the “Plop down method”. It’s easy to learn, you take minimal painting supplies outside, sit down in front of some scenery that interests you and begin to paint. I don’t use an easel, I paint on the pages of my journal which I prop up on a cigar box that holds my water, paint and brushes.
